doesn't matter which seeds, you have to just get them in you!
The number 1 NO NO is "never buy pre ground"
They are rubbish. As soon as those tiny little seeds are smashed open they starts to lose all their magical powers. Then they are packed in a bags, placed on supermarket shelves where they sit for lord knows how long. By the time you get it you may as well eat a cereal box as it will contain more nutrition.
The number 2 NO NO is "never eat seeds whole"
Your body cannot extract the nutrition, so you will poop them out, like a bird.
Buy a coffee grinder just for your seeds and spices, then never EVER EVER buy powdered ANYTHING again. Grind your own curry powders, seeds, dried garlic, ginger, lime, turmeric, the list is endless.
I call mine NUMBER 2 and could not live without it.
breakfast smoothie: 1/2 T each of flax, chia, hemp, sesame 1T each of sunflower seeds, dehydrated pumpkin seeds 1/4 cup oatmeal 1/2 a punnet of fruit of choice, strawberries today (if you use blackberries, zap and put through a strainer first of you get what seems like grit from the tiny little annoying seeds, it's a texture thing) 1 banana 1/2t turmeric (getting it in you, your liver will love you) 1/2 a tray of ice grind all the seeds really well, prep fruit, place in flask and zap with stick blender (sorry, I forget to tell you to buy a stick blender also) add seeds and oatmeal, zap again add ice and whatever else and zap until smooth You will be super human until lunch time with no need for snacking. |
